About FOSSMeet 2010
FOSSMeet is an annual event on Free and Open Source Software at National Institute of Technology Calicut. This event brings together FOSS enthusiasts from all over India. The 2010 edition of the event is scheduled to be held during February 5 to 7, 2010.
It started as FLOSS Meet @ NIT Calicut in 2005 which was a single day event. It is being conducted at NIT Calicut annually since then. During this period, it has evolved into one of the biggest Free Software conferences in India.
FOSSMeet 2010 is the 6th edition of this attempt at popularizing Free and Open Source Software in India.
FOSSMeet is jointly organized by NIT Calicut's Student Groups: FOSSCell NITC, Computer Society of India (CSI), Computer Science and Engineering Association (CSEA), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and Free Software Users' Group Calicut.

Mission:
From small beginnings emerge great ventures, and FOSSMeet at NIT Calicut is no different. The world is crying out for people that are willing to take the initiative, people with the will power and desire to succeed in today's world, people with values, dignity and self respect. FOSSMeet is a platform to inspire people towards these lofty ideals, albeit one still in its infancy. We dream of a world where the passion for knowledge exceeds all others, a world where innovation and discovery is the norm rather than the exception. The group of individuals fueling the FOSS Movement sweeping the globe are an invaluable ally in this quest for knowledge. Young, passionate and intelligent, these visionaries are harbingers of the future, members of a vibrant global community established on a platform of deep mutual respect.
FOSSMeet NITC will grow as each year passes, but its true value can only be appreciated by those whom it inspires. This platform is open and unbiased, "FREE" yourself, if you wish. Use it to make yourself heard.
